Overview
On this trip we will venture in the footsteps of some of the greatest saints and martyrs of our Catholic heritage, such as Saint Philomena, Saint Padre Pio, Saint Francis and Saint Clare.

Assisi
Our trip begins with two days in Assisi, where we will venerate the relics of Saint Francis and Saint Clare and explore the many sites associated with these great saints. Our hotel here is the four-star Fontebella Palace, located next to the Basilica of Saint Francis in the heart of Assisi.

Lanciano
Lanciano is the site of a Eucharistic Miracle that took place in the 8th century when a monk doubted the true presence in the Eucharist. Following the prayers of Consecration, this monk watched as the host was changed into live flesh and the wine was changed into live blood.

Padre Pio
We’ll spend two days in San Giovanni Rotondo, where Saint Padre Pio lived, worked countless miracles and where his incorrupt body now lies. We’ll also visit the Sanctuary of St. Michael the Archangel, where Saint Michael appeared to a local bishop in the fifth century.

Saint Philomena
Our pilgrimage culminates with three days in Mugnano del Cardinale, where Saint Philomena is buried. This tiny village in southern Italy will come alive on her feast day – August 10, and we will be present for the festivities. There will also be the opportunity to visit Naples on an optional day trip.

Trip Patron
St. Joseph – the foster father of Jesus Christ – is the greatest of saints. As our trip patron, we will pray to St. Joseph before and during the trip, asking this incredible man, the protector of the child Jesus, to protect us on our pilgrimage!
“The Church is like a great ship being pounded by the waves of life’s different stresses. Our duty is not to abandon ship, but to keep her on her course.“
