Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register?

At the top of this webpage click “Register Now”.

What do Americans need to do to visit Mexico?

Americans must have a valid US passport in order to enter Mexico. There are no vaccine requirements nor negative Covid-19 test requirements.

Can I book my own flights? What is the land-only price?

No. Everyone attending MUST fly with the group.

How many bags can I bring on the flight?

One carry-on and one personal item are permitted. Checked bags are $35.00 each way.
  • For those coming from Chicago, click here is carry-on information.
  • For those coming from Minneapolis, click here for carry-on information.

Do I need to wear a mask on the flight?

Yes. This requirement is set to expire on March 18th, the day we depart. There is a chance that this requirement will be rescinded, although it is unlikely.

Do I need to wear a mask in Mexico?

Wearing a face mask is currently expected in certain indoor public places throughout Mexico.  Most of these places will not apply to our group.

We will be expected to wear masks when entering restaurants and while visiting indoor attractions (such as churches) where social distancing cannot be observed.

Cloth masks are OK, although surgical or N95s are recommended.

What do I need to do in order to return to the USA?

Effective December 6, the  Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will require all air passengers two years of age and over entering the United States (including U.S. citizens and Legal Permanent Residents) to present a negative COVID-19 test result a negative taken no more than 1 day before departure, or proof of recovery from the virus within the last 90 days. Airlines must confirm the negative test result or proof of recent recovery for all passengers prior to boarding. Airlines must deny boarding of passengers who do not provide documentation of a negative test or recovery.

Please see CDC’s FAQ for answers to questions about the new requirement for proof of negative COVID-19 test or recovery from COVID-19 for all air passengers arriving in the United States.

What if I test positive for Covid-19 and cannot return home?

You’ll need to remain at the same hotel until you can test negative. Chesterton network chaperones have volunteered to stay behind, and Tours Peregrinos has staff on site in Mexico City who will be able to help with anything. If this does happen, travel insurance will cover all expenses related to your extended stay in Mexico.

Are you insured?

Yes. We are fully insured with Travel Agents and Tour Operators Professional Liability Insurance through Zurich American Insurance Company . And yes, travel insurance can be purchased through ProRome Tours.

Can you accommodate people with food allergies or specific dietary restrictions?

Absolutely. Vegetarian or vegan, gluten-free or celiac, we work only with restaurants and caterers who have ample options for you.

Our Lady of Guadalupe

“Let not your heart be disturbed. Do not fear that sickness, nor any other sickness or anguish. Am I not here, who am your Mother? Are you not under my protection? Am I not your health? Are you not happily within my fold? What else do you wish? Do not grieve nor be disturbed by anything.”
