A Fall Pilgrimage to France, Spain & Portugal: The Marian Shrines of the Iberian Peninsula

This pilgrimage will immerse you in the vast cultural and Catholic heritage of France, Spain and Portugal. The itinerary features three nights in Lourdes, one night in Santander, one night in Leon, one night in Santiago de Compostela, and three nights in Fatima. Daily Mass – the cornerstone of each day – will be complemented by a rich Catholic touring program designed to bring the pilgrims face to face with the great saints, martyrs and cultural heritage of Roman Catholicism. Highlights include the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes, the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar, the Holy Cave in Covadonga, the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima and many more incredible saints, churches, basilicas and holy sites.
Roundtrip airfare and beautiful four-star hotels will be arranged. A ProRome tour manager will accompany the group throughout the course of the trip, and private bus transportation, Catholic tour guides, all tours and tickets, daily breakfast and either daily lunch or dinner are included in the price.

Airfare: $1000 per person from Denver Airport OR $1200 per person from Washington Dulles Airport

Trip Highlights

Lourdes
This pilgrimage begins with three nights in the beautiful town of Lourdes. Here we’ll enter into the life of St. Bernadette Soubirous, visiting the places where she and her family lived and where Our Lady of Lourdes appeared to her in 1858.

Santiago de Compostela
We’ll then continue to Zaragoza, Santander, Covadonga and Leon, before arriving at Santiago de Compostela! Here we’ll have the opportunity to visit the Cathedral and pray at the the tomb of St. James.

Fatima
Our pilgrimage continues with a brief visit to Braga before enjoying three nights in Fatima. Here we’ll enter into the lives of Francesco, Jacinta and Lucia, praying at their tombs and the apparition site of Our Lady of Fatima.

Lisbon
On our last day of pilgrimage everyone will have the opportunity to take an optional day trip to Lisbon, where we’ll pray at the Church of St. Anthony and visit the Jeronimos Monastery and the famous Belem Tower.

The group from Colorado is flying on Air Canada from Denver International Airport (DEN). Please see below for the detailed flight itinerary. The cost of $1000 is included in the package price for Colorado pilgrims.

Flying Separately
Please note that if you opt to fly separately from the group and your arrival flight lands after the group flight on 9/15 or your departure flight leaves before the group flight on 9/24, you are responsible for your own airport transfer. Planning Checklist
Registration
In order to register, click "Register Now" on the top of this webpage and follow the prompts on the form.
Passports - Upload or Apply Today
After registering we will send you a link to upload your passport. If you do not have a valid passport you must apply ASAP. It can take up to three months for new and renewed passports to arrive. Passports must be valid six (6) months AFTER the date of return to the USA.
Purchase Travel Insurance
ProRome Tours will send you an insurance quote as soon as you register. We strongly suggest that everyone purchase travel insurance.
Prepare Physically
We recommend that pilgrims start walking to prepare for the physical demands of this pilgrimage. We will take the bus whenever possible, but this trip will include approximately 4-7 miles walking, spread throughout the duration of each day.
Pre-Trip Video
Approximately two months before departure, ProRome Tours will send a preparatory pre-trip video to all participants regarding their pilgrimage.
Welcome Boxes
Approximately one month before departure, ProRome Tours will send welcome boxes to all trip participants. Items include: name tags, luggage tags, final detailed itineraries and more.
Final Trip Information
Two weeks before departure, ProRome Tours will email each pilgrim the final trip information, which will include the final detailed itineraries, the rooming lists, the e-ticket numbers for your flights (if booked through ProRome) and any other pertinent trip information.

Trip Patron
As our trip patron, we will pray to St. Joseph before and during the trip, asking the foster father of the Christ child for his intercession and protection upon our pilgrimage!
