A Pilgrimage to

The Holy Land

November 13 – 23, 2021 / $4590.00

On this trip we will visit the many incredible sites throughout the Holy Land. The itinerary features five nights in Jerusalem, three nights in Tiberias and one night in Tel Aviv, with multiple excursions to many different sites along the way.

Our chaplain Father Langan will lead us in daily Mass and prayer, and our Christian tour guides will share with us their love and knowledge of the holy places. From Bethlehem to Bethany, Nazareth to Jerusalem, our Faith will come to life as we walk in Christ’s very footsteps.

This trip has been designed to be as comfortable as possible. We’ve arranged round-trip direct airfare from New York, beautiful four and five star hotels, and private transportation and tour services.

The Itinerary

November 13

Getting There

On November 13 we will meet at Newark International Airport EWR in New Jersey at 7:00 PM. We will then board UA 90 for Tel Aviv, with scheduled departure at 10:50 PM. The next day we arrive in Tel Aviv at 4:20 PM. Upon arrival we will be met by our tour director and private coach and then depart directly for Jerusalem, where we will check in at the five star Herbert Samuel Hotel.

After freshening up we will have Mass and dinner at the hotel.

November 14 - 19

Jerusalem and Environs

Today we will begin our exploration of the Holy Land by following the footsteps of Our Lord in the final hours leading up to His crucifixion. Entering the Old City through St. Stephen’s Gate (The Lion’s Gate), we will initially pause to visit the Crusader-constructed St. Anne’s Church and the site of the Pool of Bethesda. After that, our path will lead us along the Via Dolorosa, from the judgment seat of Pilate all the way to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The Stations of the Cross are marked along this route.

After visiting the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, we will make our way to the Western Wall (also known as the Wailing Wall), which is the only structure of the Temple to have survived KEEP READING

November 19 - 22

Tiberias & Environs

After packing our bags and breakfasting, our private coach will take us northeast of Jerusalem to visit the home of Martha, Mary, and Lazarus in an area formerly known as Bethany. From there, we will travel east across the desert to Jericho, on the outskirts of which lies the Mount of Temptation. In Jericho we will also visit the place of the sycamore tree where Jesus bade Zacheus “make haste and come down.”

Continuing east to the Jordan River, we will visit the site of Christ’s baptism by Saint John. After that, we will follow the river north until we come to the Sea of Galilee and the city of Tiberias (about a three hour trip). Upon arrival, we will have dinner, and then check KEEP READING

November 22 - 23

Tel Aviv

Our final day of pilgrimage will bring us to places of beginnings: Nazareth, the very point on earth where the Word was made flesh at the Annunciation, and Cana, where Christ performed His first miracle.

After checking out of our hotel in Tiberias, our bus will take us to Nazareth, where we will visit the churches of the Annunciation and St. Joseph. We will eat lunch in Nazareth before driving about 20 minutes northeast to visit Cana. While there, couples will have the opportunity to renew their wedding vows.

From Cana, we will head west towards the Mediterranean coast, stopping to visit Mt. Carmel. This mountain, associated with the prophet Elijah in 1 Kings, was also home to the 12th century hermits from whom the Carmelite order traces its history. The rest of our day will be spent driving south along the coast until we reach Tel Aviv, where we will check into our hotel, the Leonardo Boutique. Here we will enjoy a farewell dinner together.

November 23

Coming Home

Following breakfast we will depart for Tel Aviv airport. We will then check-on and board United Airlines flight 85 for Newark, with scheduled departure at 11:25 AM. Scheduled arrival is at 4:35 PM.

Can I fly separately?

Absolutely. Simply provide the arrival and departure information and we’ll have a private car waiting for you in Tel Aviv – This service incurs an additional $120.00 fee.

Are you insured?

Yes. We are fully insured with Travel Agents and Tour Operators Professional Liability Insurance through Zurich American Insurance Company . And yes, travel insurance can be purchased through ProRome Tours.

Will I be safe with your group?

Safety is our #1 priority. We alway stay together as a group. Our guides are locals and know the Holy Land extremely well. We’ll never take you anywhere unsafe.

What do you do in the event of an emergency?

We remain in close contact with the American embassy in Jerusalem, who issues safety and security messages for Italy on their website found here – https://il.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/security-and-travel-information/. In the case of an emergency, we will first ensure that all of our group members are safe and able to communicate immediately with their family at home. We will then follow the instructions of the local Israeli and American authorities and make an informed decision on how to proceed.

Our staff receives training before the trip, which involves reading, understanding and committing to memory a forty-page crisis management plan. If you would like to see a copy of this plan please inquire.

Can you accommodate people with food allergies or specific dietary restrictions?

Absolutely. Vegetarian or vegan, gluten-free or celiac, we work only with restaurants and caterers who have ample options for you.

Trip Patron

Our trip patron is St. James the Greater. Following the Descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, St. James set out for Spain where he preached the good new. Following his missionary work in Spain, St. James returned to his home country and was eventually beheaded in Jerusalem, in 44 AD. His relics were returned to Spain but his head remained in Jerusalem, in the church of St. James. We’ll pay our patron a visit while in Jerusalem!

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives to all men generously and without reproaching, and it will be given him.

Travel Insurance

Protecting You, and Your Loved Ones

Protect Your Travel Investment, and Plan Worry Free

Most of our clients who purchase travel insurance will never have to file a claim. This is a very good thing. If you do have to visit a hospital over in Europe, however, it is good to know that you have the world’s largest and best travel insurance provider at your back. They’ll get you in and taken care of quickly.

On another note, the majority of those who cancel their trip with ProRome do so because of an illness or death in their family prior to the trip. This is covered in most of our plans. If nothing else, this is a very good reason to purchase a plan today.
